NEIGHBORHOOD
Capitol Hill is the largest residential historic district in Washington, DC and the National Register of Historic Places has many of its 19th and 20th century row houses listed on its Registry. Near Congress and the National Mall, it is home to many Members of Congress, their staff, and journalists, along with small business-owners, and other professionals.
EASTERN MARKET
Eastern Market is a beautiful and beloved neighborhood within Capital Hill, known for the market (food, flowers, arts & crafts) with the same name. Walk along the red-brick sidewalks past historic and quaint rowhouses with their little front yards enclosed by charming short fences, and flowers in window-boxes. Every so often, little square parks appear with walks and benches, trees, and grass lawns.
RESTAURANTS AND ENTERTAINMENT
Only 2 blocks away, 8th street is lined with restaurants, shops, and cafes as well as a fire station.

- Banana cafe offers wonderful Cuban food as well as an upstairs piano bar.
- Cave Mezze has very tasty Mediterranean food in a casual atmosphere at good prices.
- Matchbox has great sliders, pizza, and American food.
